We are building a world-class team of talented engineers to tackle challenging technical problems.
At Namely, you will be more than a line-level engineer. You will also be a cross-functional leader, collaborator, and thinker. Our goal is to hire motivated engineers and leaders at all levels of our team. As you go through the language-agnostic interview process, we will work together to build a role around what most excites you.
We look forward to meeting you.
The Benefits and ACA Team (BENACA) is responsible for three primary areas: (1) ensuring employees can easily enroll in their company’s benefits such as medical, vision and 401k; (2) allowing HR administrators to seamlessly configure benefit offerings for their company; and (3) supporting our internal brokerage team with the management of Namely clients - Namely is actually the fastest growing insurance broker in the country.
Additionally, our team supports the reporting of benefits to external parties such as Insurance Carriers (i.e. Aetna, Cigna) and the IRS for Affordable Care Act (ACA) reporting. All of our new services are written in C# and dotnet core, though we are language agnostic in the people we hire.
Namely evolved by building two separate monoliths, HCM (Human Capital Management), written in Ruby on Rails, and Payroll, written using Microsoft technologies. The challenges facing the team are cross functional and foundational in nature and impact the entire enterprise. The mandate of the team is to abstract the core HR concepts of the company and build a performant, scalable and fault tolerant set of microservices that will allow the company to grow for years to come.
One of the most important steps of processing payroll is the “tax calculation” step. This entails calculating withholding amounts based on wages, deductions and other taxation parameters (allowances, filing status, etc). The main focus of the PCFF team is rewriting our tax calculation and withholdings engine. This is a complex domain and is a critical piece of our payroll application. Along with the other payroll teams, this team is working on breaking up our monolithic payroll application into independent and scalable microservices, written in C# and dotnet core, which run in linux containers in our kubernetes cluster. The team is also responsible for rewriting and supporting tax configuration and deductions UIs, written in react + redux.
The Integrations team is focused on building valuable 3rd party vendor integrations that position Namely at the center of an HR ecosystem. There are currently two engineering teams focused on the domain: Partner Integrations, and Integrations Platform. The Partner team builds 3rd party vendor integrations, and the Platform team owns the foundation for a variety of robust and scalable partner integrations.
An ideal candidate would have experience owning and / or consuming public APIs. Senior candidates should have experience building scalable systems leveraging event-driven architectures. Partner Integrations members should have strong communication skills, as some vendor / client interactions may be required.
The SBS team is responsible for the payroll processing workflow. Our primary users are payroll administrators, who use the payroll system to configure and run payrolls. A big part of our current focus is on rewriting and optimizing legacy code, breaking pieces of our payroll monolith into independent and scalable microservices. All of our new services are written in C# and dotnet core, and run in linux containers in our kubernetes cluster. We create Web APIs, backend services and rich UIs using react + redux.
The PPP team is responsible for all post payroll approval processes including development of the MasterTax integration and W2 generation. This team will also drive forward our strategy to modernize our toolset to enable our payroll operations functions to find efficiencies and scale as our client base grows. This team’s work has immediate, high-impact on our operational efficiencies.
It’s an exciting time to join Namely’s Frontend team! The team is working on building out a design library, with Namely specific components, and adding them throughout the platform. Currently, we also have two different platforms that use different technologies and the team is working on creating a new Frontend layer that is cutting edge. While the Frontend team functions as their own entity, there is so much opportunity to be embedded on specific projects related to the different functions of Namely.
The mobile team is a small growing team full of opportunities. We have an amazing platform to work fast, experiment, iterate, and shape the next generation of namely user’s experiences.
The Mobile team’s goal is to build the best platform possible to experience Namely on. To that end, we try to push cutting edge Design and Features only found on Mobile.
With a data driven approach the Mobile team has a lot of autonomy and trust with the organization and the team keeps getting stronger with each new additional team member.
